Licorice with Jelly Beans Crumbing Quilts - Scrappy but not Crappy Series

Requirements: Materials List * sewing machine with standard foot * standard (50 weight) sewing thread in neutral color with full bobbin * sewing machine needle - universal or quilting # 80/12 * rotary cutter and scissors * small cutting mat * small sewing ruler at least 6" x 2" * water or Best Press in spray bottle * seam ripper * fabric - minimal amount needed for class are as follows: You will need 20 to 30 different complimentary fabric patterns scraps. Each pattern should provide 4 to 5 scraps measuring at least 2.5" by 3". (Scrap fabric will be available for minimal cost.) * fabric - amount needed for a completed quilt top 66" by 81". This quilt is made with 10.5 inch squares. Each square requires between 40 to 50 scraps (depending on size), plus about 10 scraps for framing (total of 1500 to 1800 scraps for quilt). This equates to approximately 1/8 to 1/4 yard of fabric per pattern. You will also need 2 & 3/8 yards of sashing and binding fabric. You can produce a 71" x 87" quilt using 11.5 squares. Additional supplies - we will have irons available, but if you have a mini iron with a small ironing pad, you will want to bring them with you.
