Scrappy, but not Crappy -- Dragonflies & Flutterbies

Using scrappy fabrics from your stash along with some background fabric, you will be able to make both of these quilts. You can even use shiny, performance fabrics for the wings on the dragonflies to add some extra sparkle.

This class is offered in two sessions. During the first session, you will learn the basics of making the quilt sandwich:

1)  How to size the quilt
2)  How to stitch three machine quilting patterns using a walking or standard foot
3)  How to sew a mitered border
4)  How to sew a mitered binding
5)  How to make flowers on the butterfly quilt and cattails on the dragonfly quilt

The second session will focus on the final elements of the quilt. You will learn the following:

1)  How to construct the dragonflies and butterflies
2)  How to applique the design elements to the quilt sandwich
3)  How to design other possible sister quilts

You will receive patterns for all elements used to produce both quilts along with sufficient paper-piecing printouts and scrap fabric to make the butterflies.
