Quilted Coat Class -- with Cody
You've made quilts, but now you're ready for a little quilty diversion. Cody is developing a clothing class starting with Quilted Coats--an art piece for you to wear. You will be making Option "A" from Butterick Fast & Easy Pattern #B6107, which can be purchased from JoAnn's and Amazon. Stop by and have a look at the coat on display at the Shop and then sign up.
This will be a three-part class:
Part 1 - You will be fitting the pattern and determining the correct size to work with. You will be deciding on fabric/color choices; cutting the pattern; and sewing the squares together to make your coat "fabric."
Part 2 - There will be more sewing of squares and deciding on sleeve and pocket designs.
Part 3 - Prior to this class, your coat pieces (the squares, batting, and lining/sheet) will need to be quilted. We will put the coat together, learn how to hide your seams using the double-fold binding tape both on the seams and the raw edges of the fabric.
