Hex Kaleidoscope Quilt Class w/Carol Irving
Carol fondly calls this quilt "Cats in the Blender," because she used adorable cat fabric for her hexagons.
So many fabrics work for this pattern; whimsy (like Carol) or gorgeous florals or even a patterned Tilda fabric for a more elegant look. The possibilities are endless!!
In the first session, you will be cutting 60-degree triangles to create the hexagons. You will receive the pattern "Kaleidoscope Hexies with Stars" in class and during the first session, you will learn to stack your focus fabric to cut the identical triangles, how to lay them out and then sew them together. During the second session, you will be putting the quilt together, stitching accent and background triangles to the hexagons. Carol will work with you to build the borders which will showcase your original fabric so viewers can pick out where each kaleidoscope occurs in the original fabric.
